Technology Instructor for Summer Camps – Coding, Digital Art & STEM Programs
Overview
This is an instructional position focused on delivering engaging courses in coding, digital art, and technology to children and youth. As a KGM Summer Camp Instructor, you will help inspire creativity, build confidence, and introduce young learners to the exciting world of technology. We are seeking enthusiastic, dependable, and energetic individuals who enjoy working with children and are ready to lead hands-on activities in a structured and supportive environment.
Roles & Responsibilities
- Deliver interactive technology-based lessons that encourage curiosity and creativity.
- Guide students through the creation of real projects using our instructor-led curriculum.
- Promote a positive, inclusive, and safe classroom environment.
- Work closely with volunteers and assistant instructors to ensure a successful camp experience.
- Assist with classroom setup, daily operations, and safety procedures.
- Participate in team meetings to share ideas, feedback, and best practices.
- All instructors will receive comprehensive training, detailed lesson plans, and support in the required software and hardware before the start of camp.
Where You Will Work
Programs are delivered at community centres throughout the Greater Toronto Area. Instructors are assigned locations based on their home address and proximity whenever possible; however, flexibility to travel within the assigned area is required. We are currently hiring instructors in the following regions:
- York Region: Markham, Richmond Hill, Vaughan, Bradford, Aurora, Newmarket
- Durham Region: Ajax, Whitby, Scugog
- Simcoe Region: Barrie, Georgina, East Gwillimbury
Qualifications
- A genuine passion for working with children and helping them succeed.
- A positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow.
- Experience working with children through employment, school, camps, coaching, or volunteer experiences.
- A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle (required for transporting program equipment).
- Interest in technology is considered an asset but is not required. We value enthusiasm, reliability, and a strong work ethic above all else.
Training & Onboarding
- Comprehensive training is provided, including software tools, classroom procedures, and safety protocols.
- All instructors must obtain Standard First Aid & CPR-C certification and complete a Vulnerable Sector Screening (VSS).
- HIGH FIVE® certification is strongly encouraged as it demonstrates a commitment to healthy child development and quality recreation programming.
