Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Addictions Counsellor to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will provide specialized support to individuals struggling with substance use disorders, helping them navigate recovery through counseling, case management, and patient care. This role involves working closely with diverse patient populations3The Addictions Counsellor will play a vital role in developing personalized treatment plans, conducting research, and collecting data to improve patient outcomes.
Responsibilities
- Conduct individual and group counseling sessions focused on addiction recovery and relapse prevention
- Collaborate with team to coordinate comprehensive patient care plans
- Manage case files, document progress, and maintain accurate records in compliance with healthcare regulations
- Collect and analyze data related to treatment effectiveness and patient progress for continuous improvement
- Utilize knowledge, terminology and special education t for diverse patient needs
- Support patients in developing coping strategies, life skills, and relapse prevention techniques
- Work within clinical environments to ensure a safe, supportive atmosphere conducive to healing
Experience
- Prior experience working in a similar setting is highly desirable.
- Background in research or data collection related to addiction treatment enhances effectiveness in this role
- Familiarity with case management practices within healthcare or mental health services
- Knowledge of medical terminology relevant to addiction and mental health disorders
- Experience working with special education programs or patients requiring tailored interventions is a plus
Pay: $22.00-$26.00 per hour
