Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled and attentive Crane Signaler to join our construction team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely directing crane operations and ensuring smooth communication between the crane operator and ground personnel. This role requires a strong understanding of construction site safety protocols, mechanical systems, and excellent communication skills. Multilingual abilities and experience with various types of cranes and rigging are highly valued to facilitate effective teamwork in diverse environments.
Duties
- Provide clear, precise signals to crane operators during lifting operations to ensure safety and efficiency
- Coordinate with ground crew, riggers, and other team members to facilitate smooth lifting procedures
- Use hand signals, radio communication, or other methods to relay instructions accurately
- Assist with rigging setup and ensure proper load balance before lifting
- Monitor the work area for potential hazards and communicate safety concerns promptly
- Operate or assist with the operation of boom trucks, forklifts, or other machinery as needed
- Maintain detailed documentation of lift activities and safety checks
- Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies during crane operations
Skills
- Strong knowledge of construction site safety protocols and crane operation procedures
- Experience with rigging, boom trucks, forklifts, and mechanical systems related to lifting equipment
- Excellent communication skills, including proficiency in multiple languages or bilingual capabilities preferred
- Ability to interpret hand signals and radio instructions accurately under high-pressure situations
- Mechanical knowledge to understand equipment functions and troubleshoot minor issues
- Customer service orientation to effectively coordinate with team members and clients when necessary
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail and safety standards
