Our Client is seeking a skilled and experienced Service Technician to join our growing team on a full-time, permanent basis. This position can be based out of Maxville, Ontario, or Ottawa Ontario. with more than 75% of the time spent on the road at job sites, primarily throughout the Ottawa area. We are looking for a professional, motivated individual with a strong background in millwork and cabinet installation who works independently and requires minimal supervision.
As a key member of our service team, you will play an essential role in maintaining the high standards our clients have come to expect. Your responsibilities will include conducting accurate site measurements, performing pre-delivery and installation inspections, ensuring top-quality installations, and troubleshooting any on-site issues as they arise. In addition to overseeing the quality of the work, you will be working hands-on with tools to install and service our custom millwork and cabinetry. You will be expected to uphold the craftsmanship and service quality that Cedar Ridge Designs is known for. A company vehicle will be provided for all service and installation work.
Key Responsibilities:
· Perform project adjustments, redo’s, and installations of back-ordered items according to finalized drawings and specifications.
· Troubleshoot and resolve on-site issues efficiently to ensure complete customer satisfaction.
· Foster strong, service-oriented relationships with contractors, homeowners, and internal team members.
· Interpret and work from detailed drawings with precision and accuracy.
· Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment on all job sites.
· Work independently to complete tasks within project timelines and schedules.
· Measure, cut, shape, and join wood materials, moldings, and hardware as required.
· Submit daily progress reports, time sheets, and project updates to management.
· Communicate effectively with Project Managers and the management team to clarify scope, resolve site issues, and address design concerns.
· Utilize the company ERP system to track tasks, report updates, and support workflow efficiency.
· Provide a feedback loop to management, contributing to continuous improvement in processes, fabrication techniques, and service delivery.
· Help drive innovation and uphold Cedar Ridge’s commitment to producing the highest quality and most functional cabinetry.
· Consistently deliver work with a high level of craftsmanship, precision, and attention to detail.
· Maintain a safe, clean, and organized workspace by following all health and safety protocols.
· Utilize the company ERP system to manage job information, track materials, and support documentation.
Qualifications:
· 3–5 years of experience in millwork and cabinet installation across a variety of site environments and customer expectations
· Proficient in the safe and accurate use of shop and jobsite equipment, including jointer, planer, shaper, table saw, miter saw, power planes, belt sanders, jigsaws, and more
· Solid knowledge of wood species, joinery techniques, cabinetry hardware, and finishing practices
· Physically capable of manual labor in shop and jobsite environments, including lifting 50+ lbs
· Strong organizational and documentation skills with attention to cleanliness, detail, and efficiency
· Excellent communication and relationship-building skills with clients, team members, and project stakeholders
· Self-motivated, organized, and capable of working independently with minimal supervision
· Reliable, mature, and team-oriented, with a positive attitude and strong work ethic
· High attention to detail and a strong commitment to delivering quality craftsmanship
· Valid driver’s license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record
· Own tools are optional — compensation will be adjusted based on whether the technician uses personal tools or company-provided ones
· Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Word and Excel
· CSA-approved safety footwear is required.
· First aid training is not required but considered an asset
· Experience in millwork and cabinet production is considered an asset
