Primary Function:
As an IT Support Specialist, you will work collaboratively alongside the Systems Administrator to support, maintain, and secure the organization’s IT environment. In this role, you will share responsibility for providing high-quality technical support, managing end-user hardware lifecycles, and maintaining daily IT operations. You will assist with the administration of servers, networks, and cloud services, contributing directly to IT projects that drive operational efficiency. The ideal candidate is a collaborative team player, an efficient troubleshooter, and eager to grow their technical skills within a tight-knit corporate IT department.
Qualifications and Educational Requirements:

Diploma or degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field.

3–5 years of experience in an IT support, helpdesk, or technical desktop support role.

Strong experience with Microsoft 365 administration, Azure and AWS.

Good foundational understanding of desktop operating systems, workstation imaging, and hardware diagnostics.

Expertise with Active Directory, Group Policy, and identity management.
-
Knowledge of networking fundamentals (LAN/WAN, Wi-Fi, VPN connectivity).

Experience supporting VMware or Hyper-V virtual environments.

Experience administering Windows Server environments including DNS, DHCP and file/print services.

Understanding of cybersecurity practices (MFA enforcement, endpoint security).

Experience in a manufacturing environment is an asset.

Strong collaboration, communication, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities, Skills, and Competencies:
Infrastructure & Systems Management
-
Collaboratively monitor and maintain the health, uptime, and performance of on-premises servers and cloud infrastructure.
-
Work alongside the Systems Administrator to investigate infrastructure alerts, system errors, or performance bottlenecks.
-
Assist in executing software updates, patch management, and routine system maintenance across all endpoints and systems.
-
Support server room maintenance, physical rack organization, and basic hardware checks.
Network Administration
-
Jointly handle troubleshooting for network issues, including Wi-Fi connectivity, physical drops, and remote VPN access.

Assist with network moves, adds, and changes (patching switches, deploying access points).
-
Help monitor network stability and verify daily backups to ensure data readiness.
Identity, Access & Security
-
Administer Active Directory, Group Policy, authentication systems, and user lifecycle management.
-
Maintain cybersecurity controls such as MFA, encryption, endpoint security, and intrusion detection.

Conduct routine security audits and work together to remediate identified vulnerabilities.
Cloud & SaaS Administration

Perform routine Microsoft 365 tenant administration (managing shared mailboxes, distribution lists, and OneDrive permissions)

Ensure proper licensing, security configurations, data governance, and system uptime
Equipment & Asset Management
-
Coordinate the procurement, provisioning, imaging (OS deployment), and setup of corporate laptops, monitors, and peripherals.

Maintain accurate and detailed records of all IT assets, repairs, warranty claims, and vendor interactions.
End-User Support

Provide day-to-day support for desktops, laptops, mobile devices and networking equipment.

Support workstation imaging, hardware diagnostics, and specialized software installations.
-
Advise and train staff on secure and efficient use of IT systems when needed.
IT Projects & Continuous Improvement

Assist in IT infrastructure projects such as system upgrades, cloud migrations, new software implementations, and network enhancements.

Work cross-functionally to assess IT needs and ensure alignment with organizational growth.
Documentation & Reporting
-
Create and maintain documentation for systems architecture, configurations, procedures, and disaster recovery processes.

Report on infrastructure performance, uptime, incidents, and IT improvement opportunities.

Measures of Success/ KPI Metrics:
1. Asset Tracking & Inventory Control
- Maintain accurate records of all IT assets, equipment assignments, warranties, and inventory.
- Ensure equipment is available, configured, and ready to support onboarding, replacements, and operational needs.
2. Data Backup Validation
- Verify successful completion of daily backup jobs and promptly investigate and resolve backup failures.
- Support the integrity and recoverability of company data through regular backup monitoring.
3. SLA & Ticket Resolution
- Respond to IT support requests within one business day.
- Meet established service levels and provide timely, professional resolution of user issues.
4. Technical Documentation
- Create, maintain, and update IT procedures, system documentation, and recovery processes.
- Ensure documentation remains current, accessible, and aligned with operational requirements.
5. Infrastructure Management
- Maintain workstations, servers, and supporting infrastructure in accordance with patching and maintenance schedules.
- Assist in monitoring system health, performance, security, and overall reliability.
6. End-User Support & Customer Service
- Deliver effective technical support that enables employee productivity and minimizes business disruption.
- Provide a positive support experience through clear communication, responsiveness, and follow-through.
This position is located at 6635 Ordan Drive in Mississauga, ON. Hours are typically 8:00am to 4:30pm.
Pay: $70,000.00
