Role Purpose
The Precast Production Technician plays a key role in building the products our clients rely on every day. From form preparation to final finish, this role contributes directly to the quality, safety, and reliability of every piece that leaves our plant.
At MVP, we take pride in doing things properly. That means working safely, paying attention to detail, and supporting each other to get the job done right the first time.
This is a hands-on role within our production team, supporting form preparation, reinforcement placement, concrete pouring, finishing, stripping, and general plant operations.
Core Responsibilities
Production & Fabrication
- Prepare, assemble, and strip concrete forms in accordance with drawings and specifications
- Install reinforcement, embeds, and block-outs as required
- Assist with concrete placement, vibration, finishing, and curing processes
- Perform surface finishing to meet required quality standards
- Ensure components are built to dimensional accuracy
Equipment & Tools
- Operate hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Assist with operation of forklifts, cranes, or other production equipment (if trained and authorized)
- Maintain tools and equipment in safe working condition
Quality & Safety
- Follow all health, safety, and quality procedures at all times
- Identify and report hazards, quality issues, or equipment concerns
- Participate in safety meetings and continuous improvement initiatives
- Maintain clean and organized work areas
Team Collaboration
- Work collaboratively with supervisors, leads, and team members to meet production targets
- Support cross-training and skill development within the plant
- Perform other related duties as required to support operational needs
Qualifications & Requirements
- Experience in construction, manufacturing, precast, or related field preferred
- Ability to read and interpret basic shop drawings (or willingness to learn)
- Strong work ethic and commitment to safety
- Ability to perform physically demanding work in an industrial environment
- Willingness to work in variable plant conditions
Working Conditions
- Physical labour including lifting, bending, standing, and repetitive tasks
- Exposure to dust, noise, and concrete materials
- Required use of personal protective equipment (PPE)
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: From $22.00 per hour
