Join Our Team
OESN is seeking to immediately hire an individual for the position of Environmental Technician. The successful candidate will be expected to complete the following tasks (at minimum):
- Conduct designated substance and hazardous material surveys
- Perform studies relating to mould, water damage, and indoor air quality
- Collect bulk/air samples in accordance with internal and industry standards and methods
- Evaluate and interpret environmental data
- Generate reports based on results of environmental studies
- Assist with the development of field sampling plans
- Maintain neat, organised, and up-to-date field notes
- Communicate with clients, Joint Health and Safety Committees and other parties as required
- The successful candidate will be required to travel.

Experience and Assets
Experience (1-3 years) in identifying, evaluating, and controlling environmental and safety risks in the workplace is preferred. The following training and certifications are considered assets but are not required:
- AutoCAD training
- NCSO certification
- Environmental Professional certification (EP, EPt)
- Professional Geoscientist certification (P.Geo, GIT)
- Asbestos worker training
- Mould awareness training
- Hazardous materials awareness training
- Ethics in the workplace training
- First aid certification
OESN will provide the successful candidate with the necessary training.
Marine Experience
Please indicate on your cover letter and resume if you possess any experience in the marine sector. Please also indicate whether you have extensive knowledge of marine regulations or vessel mechanical systems.
