With the launch of our newly integrated e-commerce site, our business is growing and evolving. As part of this expansion, we are introducing a new Packer/Shipper role to strengthen our operations and ensure a seamless experience for both our in-person and online customers.
Position Overview
As a Shipper/Customer Service, you’ll be responsible for preparing and shipping customer orders accurately and efficiently. You'll play a key role in interacting with with walk in customers to fulfill and process orders in computer system. This role ensures materials are packed securely, delivered on time, and supported by professional customer interactions. This role also involves navigating courier websites and online order systems, making adaptability and confidence with technology essential.
Key Responsibilities
- Pack, label, and prepare orders for shipment
- Verify accuracy of orders before shipping
- Assist with in-person pickup orders
- Process and fulfill walk in customers orders
- Operate shipping systems and prepare courier/freight documentation
- Navigate courier platforms and process orders through Shopify/SM3 (training provided)
- Communicate professionally with sales staff, warehouse team members, and customers
- Safely handle metal products and assist with loading/unloading as needed
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized workspace
- Contribute to process improvements as the role develops
Qualifications
- Previous experience in shipping or packing preferred (manufacturing/metal industry an asset)
- Comfortable using computers — confident navigating courier websites , e-commerce systems (Shopify experience an asset) and order processing systems
- Strong communication skills — able to interact effectively with internal teams and customers while maintaining professionalism and a positive attitude
- Adaptable and solution-oriented — this is a new role that may evolve as processes are streamlined
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods
- Forklift experience an asset
- Dependable, punctual, and a strong team player
