Job Summary:
The Bread Baker Jr supports the daily production process at the Stella’s Commissary Bakery by preparing ingredients, following recipes and specifications accurately, and ensuring all baked products meet Stella’s standards for quality, consistency, and freshness. This position assists with baking, packaging, and distribution while maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities:

Read, understand and follow recipes accurately, ensuring all ingredients are measured and scaled correctly.

Maintain an up-to-date working knowledge of bread recipes, production schedules, and batch requirements.

Prepare doughs and baked products according to Stella’s daily production plan and special orders.

Operate and clean bakery equipment including scales, proofers, ovens, and divider machines.

Ensure all products are labeled, stored, and dated properly according to FIFO standards.

Assist with batch labeling, packaging, and product distribution.

Maintain stock of ingredients and finished products as required.

Adhere to Manitoba Food Safe requirements and Stella’s sanitation standards.

Execute cleaning checklists and ensure bakery areas, walk-in fridges, freezers, and storage areas remain clean and organized.

Wash dishes and utensils as needed to support daily production.

Communicate effectively with team members to maintain efficient production flow.
Qualifications:

Maintain Manitoba Food Handler and WHMIS certificate

Basic knowledge of baking processes and ingredient handling.

Strong attention to detail and ability to follow written instructions accurately.

Understanding of product rotation and inventory practices.

Ability to operate and maintain commercial baking equipment safely.

Physically capable of lifting up to 50 lbs and standing for long periods.

Team-oriented, reliable, and eager to learn from senior bakers.
