Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Line Cook/Prep Cook to join our culinary team. In this role, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of high-quality meals and ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly and efficiently. You will play a crucial role in maintaining food safety standards and delivering exceptional dining experiences to our guests.
Duties
- Prepare ingredients for cooking, including chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and measuring spices.
- Assist in the cooking process by following recipes and instructions from the head chef or kitchen manager.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen area, including proper storage of food items.
- Ensure all food handling practices comply with health and safety regulations.
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed.
- Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure timely meal preparation and service.
- Help maintain equipment by cleaning and performing basic maintenance tasks as required.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of food preparation techniques and meal preparation processes.
- Familiarity with food safety standards and best practices in food handling within the restaurant industry.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- Excellent teamwork skills, with a willingness to help others in the kitchen as needed.
- Good communication skills for effective collaboration with team members.
- Previous experience in a kitchen or food service environment is preferred but not required.
