The Quality Coordinator is responsible for ensuring that PEX and PE-RT tubing products meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. This role involves performing various quality control tests, documenting findings, and communicating with production teams and various auditors to maintain product integrity.
The successful candidate will be on the Morning Shift (Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM)
Key Responsibilities:
- Monitor quality of work-in-progress (WIP) and finished products through physical/chemical, analyses and on-site quality verifications
- Conduct bulk product receiving quality checks
- Perform on-line quality checks
- Collect and perform chemical crosslinking tests and mechanical burst tests on finished products
- Calibration checks of laboratory equipment (e.g. micrometer, Pi-tapes and probes)
- Receive random inspections with 3rd party auditors and sampling if needed
- Encourage and enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) with staff; ensure safe working conditions
- Conduct defective return investigations and inspection reports
- Maintain accurate, organized records
- Other QC duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- College diploma or Bachelor’s degree from a recognized university or college in Materials Science, Plastics Engineering or related discipline
- Previous QA/QC experience in Plastics Manufacturing facility is an asset, but not required
- Working knowledge of Plumbing systems would be an asset
- Working knowledge of WHMIS and GMP
- Basic computer skills (Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
- Professional communication and interpersonal skills
- Organization, accuracy and attention to details
- Effective Operational Proficiency English (IELTS 8.0, CEFR Level C1, or equivalent)
- Physical Requirements:
- Ability to stand, walk, and move around the production floor for extended periods.
- Capability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with exposure to noise, heat, and other industrial conditions.
