TC Auto Tech – Niagara Region (Mobile & Shop Support)
TC Auto Tech is a growing mobile automotive diagnostics and programming business serving Niagara, St. Catharines, Hamilton, and surrounding areas. We specialize in advanced diagnostics, ECU/TCU programming, key programming (including all-keys-lost situations), and module services for modern vehicles.
We’re looking for a reliable, technically curious assistant to support daily operations and grow into a hands-on technical role.
What You’ll Be Doing
You’ll be working directly alongside the owner and supporting both field and administrative tasks, including:
- Assisting with vehicle diagnostics, module programming, and key programming jobs
- Preparing tools, laptops, VCIs, power supplies, and bench setups
- Connecting diagnostic equipment and following guided procedures
- Documenting jobs, VINs, module part numbers, and outcomes
- Communicating with customers and repair shops (in person, phone, and text)
- Managing bookings, invoices, and job notes through Jobber
- Basic vehicle tasks such as battery support, interior access, and trim removal
- Organizing tools, cables, keys, and electronic components
- Learning ECU, BCM, TCM, and immobilizer workflows over time
This role starts as an assistant position but is designed to grow into diagnostics, programming, and independent field work for the right person.
Who This Role Is For
This is not a generic shop helper role. It’s a good fit if you:
- Enjoy technology, electronics, and problem-solving
- Are comfortable using laptops, software, and diagnostic tools
- Can follow procedures carefully and document your work
- Are reliable, punctual, and take pride in doing things correctly
- Are curious about how vehicles actually work at a systems level
- Can stay calm when troubleshooting doesn’t go as planned
Automotive experience is an asset, but strong technical aptitude and willingness to learn matter more than years in a shop.
Requirements
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel locally
- Comfortable working around vehicles and electronics
- Basic computer skills (Windows, software navigation, file handling)
- Strong attention to detail
- Professional communication with customers and shops
Nice to Have (Not Required)
- Automotive, electrical, or electronics background
- Experience with scan tools, programming, or key systems
- Locksmith, dealership, or independent shop experience
What We Offer
- Hands-on training in advanced automotive diagnostics and programming
- Exposure to modern vehicle security, CAN-bus systems, and modules
- Opportunity to grow into a higher-pay technical role
- Flexible work environment (mobile + shop support)
- Work that’s challenging, technical, and never boring
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent
Pay: $17.20-$30.91 per hour
Work Location: On the road
