Overview
Chachi’s Sandwiches at Departure Bay Ferry Terminal is hiring a reliable, early‑morning Food Service Attendant for a 5.30am opening shift. This position includes an additional $2.00/hr early morning premium for all hours worked before 7.00am. It's ideal for someone who enjoys quiet, focused mornings, takes pride in preparing fresh food, and can confidently open the store each day. Because buses do not operate this early, candidates must have a vehicle or reliable transportation to consistently arrive for a 5:30am start.
Duties
- Open the store at 5:30am, complete opening procedures, and prepare the service line for the day
- Prepare and serve food items according to Chachi’s recipes and standards
- Follow all food‑handling, safety, and sanitation procedures
- Assist customers with orders and provide friendly, efficient service
- Operate the POS system accurately and handle transactions
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the front counter, prep areas, and equipment
- Restock ingredients and supplies to ensure smooth operations
- Support the team during peak periods once the terminal gets busy
Qualifications
- Ability to reliably arrive for a 5:30am start (vehicle or dependable transportation required)
- Eligible for a $2.00/hr early-morning premium for hours worked before 7.00am
- Strong food‑handling and preparation skills
- Friendly, customer‑focused attitude
- Good time‑management and ability to work independently during opening
- Comfortable working in a fast‑paced QSR environment
- Willingness to work weekends and holidays as needed
