Machine Operator — Burlington, ON
If you're mechanically sharp, take pride in your work, and want a role that pays a shift premium, gives you more days off per pay period than a standard job, and has a clear path to full-time permanent employment — keep reading.
Earn shift premium pay on top of a compressed schedule that gives you more days off than a standard 5-day work week.
This is a contract-to-permanent role — your performance is your interview for a full-time position with real benefits.
No experience with this specific product required — on-the-job training is provided for the right candidate.
Here's the honest pitch: most manufacturing job postings look exactly the same. So let us cut through it. This is a role with a well-established, large-scale industrial manufacturer in Burlington — one of the biggest operations of its kind in North America. They've been running for over 50 years, employ more than 500 people across multiple facilities, and they supply components used in power generation, electric vehicles, data centres, and industrial infrastructure.
This isn't a small shop. This is a real operation, with real career potential, and they're hiring because production demand is growing. Contractors who perform get converted. That's the track record, and that's the opportunity in front of you.
The schedule is a continental rotating shift — 12-hour days and nights, rotating every two weeks on a compressed cycle that gives you 84 hours of pay over 7 shifts across a two-week period. If you've worked a compressed schedule before, you already know that the time off you get in return makes it worth it. If you haven't, this is a legitimate lifestyle upgrade for the right person.
Why This Opportunity Is Different
- This is not a temp job with a vague promise of future employment.
- The pathway to permanent status comes with competitive health and dental benefits, a production bonus plan, and a company-matched pension plan. Those aren't perks they dangle — they're part of the offer when you convert.
- You're also walking into an operation that has a genuine safety culture, not the poster-on-the-wall kind, but one where every team member is trained and empowered to look out for each other.
- For anyone who takes safety seriously on the floor, this is the kind of environment where that matters and is recognized.
