Noteworthy Music Studio is seeking an enthusiastic, engaging Voice Instructor with Musical Theatre experience to join our growing team.
For over 20 years, Noteworthy Music Studio has been helping students of all ages develop confidence, creativity, and a lifelong love of music. We offer piano, voice, guitar, drums and early childhood music programs in a warm, supportive, student-focused environment.
As our voice program continues to grow, we are looking for an exceptional teacher who is passionate about vocal instruction and enjoys helping students develop as confident singers and performers. This role includes teaching private voice lessons and group voice classes, with exciting opportunities to help develop and lead our growing musical theatre program, including Broadway-style performance classes, audition preparation, showcases, and a licensed youth musical production in the future.
Position Type: Part-Time Contract
Compensation: $30.00–$45.00 per hour (commensurate with experience)
Responsibilities
- Teach private voice lessons to children, teens, and adults
- Teach healthy vocal technique, breath support, projection, diction, musicianship, and performance skills
- Prepare students for recitals, performances, auditions, festivals, and examinations where appropriate
- Coach students in classical, contemporary, Disney, and musical theatre repertoire
- Prepare students for school and community musical theatre auditions
- Lead engaging group voice classes and Broadway-style performance classes for children
- Foster confidence, creativity, stage presence, and acting through song
- Collaborate with the studio team to develop and grow our musical theatre programming, including future showcases and a licensed youth musical production
- Maintain clear communication with families and studio administration
- Participate in studio events, recitals, and performances
Qualifications
- Degree or diploma in Music Education, Musical Theatre, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience)
- Previous experience teaching voice to children and teens
- Musical theatre performance and/or teaching experience
- Strong understanding of healthy vocal technique across a variety of musical styles
- Excellent classroom management and communication skills
- Positive, reliable, professional, and encouraging teaching style
- Ability to inspire confidence and creativity in young performers
- Must provide a clear Vulnerable Sector Check upon hiring
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong piano proficiency with the ability to accompany voice lessons
- Ability to teach beginner piano lessons is considered a strong asset
- Experience teaching group classes, vocal ensembles, Broadway showcases, or performance workshops
- Experience preparing students for school musicals, community theatre productions, festivals, and auditions
- Experience directing or assisting with youth musical theatre productions is considered an asset
- Familiarity with contemporary Broadway, Disney, and youth musical theatre repertoire
