Job Description
As a Foreman at VGS, you are responsible for leading a crew on civil construction projects, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to high quality standards. You will coordinate daily site activities, manage labour and equipment resources, and act as the key on-site contact between the field and management. Your leadership directly impacts project success and team culture.
Expectations
- Lead and manage site crews, ensuring tasks are completed safely, on time, and to spec.
- Plan daily work activities based on project schedules, drawings, and supervisor direction.
- Conduct daily tailgate meetings and regular safety talks; enforce site safety standards.
- Monitor production rates and adjust crew activities or resources as needed to meet targets.
- Communicate proactively with Superintendents and Project Managers on progress, issues, and needs.
- Maintain site organization, cleanliness, and material tracking.
- Complete daily reporting (e.g., timesheets, equipment usage, quantities completed) accurately and on time.
- Train, mentor, and support crew members, helping to build a strong and capable team.

o Maintain a zero-incident culture. Lead by example and address unsafe behaviors immediately.
o Assign tasks effectively. Maintain crew morale, performance, and efficiency.
o Meet or exceed daily/weekly production goals while maintaining quality standards.
o Maintain clear communication with crew and management. Promptly report site updates/issues.
o Complete all required paperwork accurately and on schedule.
o Monitor and ensure that all work meets project specifications and quality requirements.
Pay: $45.00-$50.00 per hour
