Join our dynamic team as a Custom Farming - Team Lead, where your passion for agriculture and leadership skills will drive successful farming operations. In this role, you will oversee daily farming activities, coordinate team efforts, and ensure the efficient use of farm machinery and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise a team of operators on clients jobs.
- Operate and oversee heavy machinery and farm equipment safely and effectively, including tractors, harvesters, and some construction equipment.
- Perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on farm machinery using hand tools and power tools to ensure optimal operation.
- Conduct regular inspections of crops, equipment, and farm infrastructure to identify issues early and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, equipment maintenance, and crop progress to support operational planning.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols, environmental regulations, and best practices in horticulture and sustainable farming.
Requirements
- Proven mechanical knowledge with experience in maintaining and repairing farm machinery.
- Familiarity with irrigation systems, horticulture principles, and crop management techniques.
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in various weather conditions.
- Experience using hand tools, power tools, and basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting, prolonged standing, bending, and working outdoors in diverse environments.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate a team while maintaining high safety standards.
- Prior experience in farm operations or agricultural management is preferred but not mandatory; willingness to learn is essential.
