Our client is seeking an experienced, discreet, and highly organized Private Chef to provide exceptional culinary services for a private household.
The ideal candidate will create customized menus, prepare high-quality meals, manage kitchen operations, source ingredients, and accommodate dietary preferences while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, professionalism, and confidentiality.
Additional responsibilities include catering for dinner parties and family events as well as overall kitchen cleaning and maintenance, inventory management and provisioning of supplies at the property.
OVERVIEW
This is a full-time live out position. The normal work schedule will be 40 hours per week; however, the successful candidate must be flexible with the willingness to work evenings, weekends, and holidays. In addition, while most of the time will be spent supporting the client, additional travel may be required.
Key Responsibilities
Meal Planning & Preparation
- Design and prepare daily meals, snacks, and special occasion menus.
- Create customized menus based on client preferences, dietary restrictions, and nutritional goals.
- Prepare meals for family members, guests, and special events as needed.
- Accommodate allergies, food sensitivities, and specialized diets (e.g., gluten-free, vegan, keto, low-sodium).
- Sourcing and harvesting fruit, herbs, and vegetables from the family garden.
Kitchen Management
- Maintain a clean, organized, and fully stocked kitchen.
- Purchase groceries and source premium ingredients from local suppliers and specialty vendors.
- Manage food inventory, storage, and rotation to minimize waste.
- Ensure compliance with food safety and sanitation standards.
Event & Hospitality Support
- Plan and execute private dinners, holiday meals, and special events.
- Coordinate with household staff and vendors when required.
- Provide exceptional presentation and service standards.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain food budgets and expense records.
- Track household inventory and kitchen supplies.
Qualifications
- Professional culinary training or equivalent experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience as a private chef in a household environment; personal chef, executive chef.
- Knowledge of and ability to ensure food restrictions/allergies/preferences are adhered to.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and adapt to changing schedules.
- Valid food handling certification.
- Driver's license and reliable transportation preferred.
