The North Lambton Community Health Centre is a community governed health centre serving identified priority populations in a defined catchment area. The Centre operates multiple sites in Ontario: Forest, Kettle & Stony Point, Watford, and Sarnia. Our interdisciplinary team provides primary health care, health promotion and community development services.
The North Lambton Community Health Centre is currently seeking applicants for the following position:
0.8 FTE Bookkeeper
30 hours per week
The Bookkeeper is responsible for the accurate and timely delivery of day-to-day accounting operations in support of the Centre and any shared finance service arrangements. Working under the direction of the Finance Coordinator, the Bookkeeper performs accounts payable and receivable functions, bank and balance sheet reconciliations, journal entries, and other accounting activities that support the integrity of the Centre's financial records. The Bookkeeper contributes to efficient financial operations by maintaining accurate financial information, supporting month-end and year-end processes, and identifying opportunities to improve financial procedures.
Qualifications:
- Diploma or degree in Bookkeeping, Accounting, Business Administration, or related discipline, or combination of a diploma and related experience;
- Three to five years of accounting experience in a not for profit or health care setting;
- Experience preparing financial statement and supporting audits;
- Proficiency with computerized accounting, payroll, Microsoft Office applications (particularly Excel), and other financial software;
- Ability to multitask in an ever changing, fast paced environment;
- Proficiency in French is considered an asset.
The rate of pay for this position is $41,627 - $49,440 annually (on a six-step grid). The rate of pay will be based on experience and education. Medical benefits and paid vacation are included. HOOPP is available. This position will be based at the Forest site.
