Job Type: Full-time or Part-time Monday to Thursday 3:30 pm to 2:00 am OR Monday to Friday 7:00 am to 3:30 pm

At Accumetal Manufacturing, you will work on parts for mining trucks, military armoured vehicles, and locomotives. As a Senior Welder you will perform advanced welding and fabrication work in a custom metal fabrication shop while ensuring compliance with job specifications, welding procedures, quality standards, and safety requirements. Senior Welders provides technical support, mentorship, and leadership to junior employees while maintaining high-quality workmanship and production efficiency.
Duties
- Read and interpret technical diagrams to understand the required weld.
- Operate welding equipment to perform shielded metal arc welding (SMAW), gas metal arc welding (GMAW) and gas tungsten arc welding (GTAW) processes.
- Use grinders and sanders as required for finishing to create product free of burrs.
- Evaluate final product for conformance with drawing and specifications.
- Operate overhead crane to move parts as required.
- Assist others in inspection via Buddy System.
- Complete 100% First Article Inspections to verify all dimensions and specifications of the first piece from a new part order.
- Accurately track and document job status in Job Boss software and on Work Traveler.
- Perform all tasks in accordance with Quality (ISO) manual.
- Contribute to the overall cleanliness of the production floor and assist others as required.
- Conform to all health and safety standards and utilize all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
Skills
- Completion of Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Minimum 5 years of welding/fabrication experience preferred.
- Successful completion and maintenance of CWB weld tickets.
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Proficient with measuring devices including squares, calipers, verniers, and measuring tape.
- Ability to tolerate wearing a respirator.
- Must successfully complete overhead crane training.
- Must pass security clearance screening under the Controlled Goods Program of the Defence Production Act.
- Strong understanding of welding quality standards and fabrication processes.
- Proven ability to work independently and mentor junior staff.
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
