We are seeking a Senior Data Specialist to join our Decision Intelligence team and support the design of scalable, AI-ready data platforms using Azure Databricks. In this role, you will contribute to building modern data architectures that enable advanced analytics and AI use cases, including Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG).
You will collaborate with data engineers, analytics teams, and business stakeholders to deliver secure, high-quality data solutions aligned with enterprise standards. This is a senior individual contributor role, focused on solving complex problems and guiding implementation, not people management.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable data architecture solutions on Azure Databricks to support analytics and AI use cases
- Develop and maintain data models (conceptual, logical, and physical) aligned with enterprise standards
- Contribute to AI-ready data pipelines, including support for RAG, vector search, and ML workflows
- data governance and security practices, including Unity Catalog, access controls, and data lineage
- Partner with cross-functional teams (engineering, analytics, business) to translate requirements into technical solutions
- Create reusable data architecture patterns, frameworks, and best practices
- Support production readiness by enabling monitoring, performance optimization, and data quality controls
- Other duties may be assigned as needed to meet Company goals
Basic Requirements
- Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 7+ years of relevant experience.
- 7+ years of hands-on experience in data architecture, data engineering, or data platform design
- Proven experience working with Azure Databricks and cloud-based data platforms
- Strong experience in data modeling (dimensional, relational, or domain-driven design)
- Experience building or supporting data pipelines, ETL/ELT frameworks, and large-scale data systems
- Experience with data governance, security, and compliance practices (e.g., access controls, data lineage)
- Demonstrated experience working with SQL, Python, or Spark-based data processing
Preferred Skills / Experience
- Experience supporting AI/ML or advanced analytics workloads (e.g., RAG, vector databases, MLflow)
- Familiarity with Unity Catalog, data observability, or data quality frameworks
- Ability to communicate technical concepts effectively with cross-functional stakeholders and influence solution design
