We are looking for an experienced Skid Steer Operator / Crew Lead to join our team. This is a hands-on position working on both residential properties and commercial construction projects.
The successful candidate will primarily operate skid steers for grading, soil preparation, and site development, while also running hydroseeding equipment as needed. Experience with mini excavators and erosion control installation is a strong asset.
You will also be responsible for driving a Class 3–rated truck and trailer, completing daily pre-trip inspections, and safely transporting equipment to and from job sites.
This role is ideal for someone who is self-motivated, reliable, and capable of leading a small crew. You will be expected to take ownership of daily operations, direct a helper, and maintain productivity and quality on-site with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Operating skid steers for grading, leveling, and site preparation
- Assisting with hydroseeding and hydromulching operations
- Operating mini excavators as required
- Topsoil placement, rough/final grade work, and site prep
- Installing erosion control measures (straw mulch, blankets, silt fence, etc.)
- Driving Class 3 truck and trailer; completing daily pre-trip inspections
- Leading and directing a helper/laborer
- Planning daily work and maintaining efficient workflow
- Performing basic equipment maintenance and following safety procedures
Requirements:
- Strong experience operating skid steers (primary role focus)
- Background in landscaping, grading, or site construction
- Experience with hydroseeding or erosion control is an asset
- Comfortable running multiple pieces of equipment
- Valid Class 3 driver’s license (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to work independently and lead a small crew
- Physically capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions
