About the Position
We are looking for enthusiastic and dependable Bartenders to join our catering team.This is an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy working in a fast-paced hospitality environment and providing excellent service at a variety of events, receptions, conferences, weddings, corporate functions, and special events.Hours will vary based on business needs, with opportunities ranging from part-time(hourly wages) to full-time(salaried) for the right candidates.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide professional, friendly, and efficient bar service to guests.
- Prepare and serve beer, wine, cocktails, mixed drinks, and non-alcoholic beverages.
- Check identification and ensure alcohol is served responsibly and in accordance with applicable laws and regulations.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and properly stocked bar area throughout each event.
- Set up and tear down bar stations, including glassware, beverages, ice, garnishes, mixers, and equipment.
- Monitor beverage inventory and communicate restocking requirements to supervisors.
- Process beverage orders and payments when required.
- Maintain excellent guest service and respond professionally to guest requests.
- Work closely with servers, chefs and other staff to ensure smooth event operations.
- Assist with general event setup, service, and cleanup when required.
- Ensure responsible alcohol service and recognize when service should be refused or discontinued.
- Maintain a professional appearance
- Perform other reasonable duties related to event service and catering operations as required.
- Qualifications & ExperienceRequired:
- Valid SMART SERVE certification or equivalent recognized responsible alcohol service certification.
- Must be legally permitted to serve alcohol in Nova Scotia.
- Strong customer service and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and professional.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced event environment.
- Ability to stand and remain active for extended periods.
- Ability to lift and move catering and beverage supplies as required.
- Preferred, but Not Required:
- Previous bartending experience.
- Previous hospitality, restaurant, catering, banquet, or event experience.
- Knowledge of beer, wine, spirits, cocktails, and standard drink preparation.
- Experience working high-volume events.
- Cash handling or point-of-sale experience.
- Food and beverage service experience.
- Food Handler Certification.
Pay: $16.75-$18.00 per hour
