We are currently seeking a Millwright - Fluid Power Specialist to work out of our location in Belleville, Ontario.

Our fluid conveyance offering ranges from end user hose replacements right through to full hydraulic conveyance kitting for some of North America’s largest OEMs. We also offer full hydraulic system servicing, both on site and in our shop. Our engineering department can help with the smallest of requests right up to designing and building large power units. Our drive to sell and service the best brands in the world has established our relationship with Hetronic Radio Remotes, by being Hetronic Canada, our clients can now lean on the UMI Group for support in radio remotes and electrical controls.
The Millwright - Fluid Power Specialist is responsible for diagnosing, testing, and repairing hydraulic equipment and industrial machinery, including replacing faulty components. This role involves on-site service at customer locations and collaboration with a multidisciplinary team to design hydraulic systems, select components, and develop specifications. As a senior team member, they also mentor and support junior technicians
Shift: Monday to Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.

Responsibilities:
- Install, repair, and test fluid power systems and/or industrial machinery.
- Diagnose issues using appropriate tools and evaluate technical information to determine solutions.
- Perform bench work including assembly, disassembly, modification, cleaning, measuring, inspection, and testing of hydraulic equipment.
- Repair or replace defective components and industrial machines; order parts as needed.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, job specifications, and bills of materials (BOM) to support assembly, testing, and troubleshooting.
- Operate shop equipment and machinery such as hydraulic test stands, grinders, tube benders, and hand tools.
- Calculate fluid power component requirements based on customer specifications.
- Read and understand hydraulic schematics and power unit layouts to be able to understand functionality.
- Basic electrical knowledge would be an asset.
- Understand fluid power specifications for selecting components to meet customer needs.
- Troubleshoot hydraulic systems both in-house and on-site at customer facilities.
- Design, size, and specify components for hydraulic systems.
- Create bills of materials for hydraulic systems and installations.
- Work with hydraulic hose assemblies, pumps, cylinders, manifolds, and power packs.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- Industrial Mechanic Millwright Red Seal (433a) would be considered an asset.
- Highschool Diploma or GED
- Certificate in fluid power, hydraulic systems, or equivalent experience preferred.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic, pneumatic, and mechanical systems, including component testing and troubleshooting.
- Hands-on experience supporting technicians and sales teams with pumps, valves, cylinders, and related equipment.
- Mechanically inclined with experience in industrial equipment and machine repair.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Skilled in diagnosing and resolving issues based on non-technical customer descriptions.
- Familiarity with industry-standard tools and equipment.
- Physically fit to lift heavy equipment, work in confined spaces, and perform manual tasks such as climbing, squatting, bending, and working at heights.
- Ability to regularly lift/carry/push/pull 25–80 lbs; occasionally up to 100 lbs.
- Willingness to travel to customer sites as needed.
- Valid Provincial driver’s license.
