Why This Role Is Different:
Let’s be honest about the industry: many personal training roles come with unpredictable/scattered hours, commission-based pay, no benefits, and schedules that change week to week. It’s part of why so many talented trainers eventually burn out or leave the field entirely.
We built Movimento Fitness to be different. Trainers join us part-time and grow with our team into a full-time role with:
- A true salary — not hourly, not commission, not only based on what you can sell. Predictable income, every paycheck.
- A consistent, locked-in schedule — know your hours weeks and months in advance, not day to day.
- A health spending account — real benefits, in an industry where almost nobody offers them.
- Paid time off — take a vacation without losing income.
This part-time position is the door in if you’re serious about building a long-term career in this field — one with actual stability.
Other benefits:
- Your only focus is providing great training sessions; we fill your schedule for you
- All personal trainers are employees, not independent contractors
- No split shifts (even as a part-time trainer) — many studios split your day into two disconnected shifts hours apart; we don’t

Position Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology or a minimum of a 2-year Personal Fitness Trainer Diploma from an accredited institution such as NAIT.
- Students completing the 4th year of their Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology will be considered for this position.
- Passion for working with an older population and helping them live a better quality of life
- Excellent communication and listening skills
- Ability to thrive in a team environment where the team works together to ensure the success of each member
- Ability to adapt to and be sensitive to the needs of each individual client
- Commitment to continuing to learn and grow both personally and professionally
The following are assets but not required to apply:
- National Certification (NASM, ACSM, ISSA, CSEP or NSCA)
- Valid CPR/AED and First Aid Certification (can be completed during onboarding period with us)
- Experience working with older adults and/or populations with health conditions/limitation
