Bunchberry Diner is seeking a highly experienced, fast, and dependable Line Cook to join our dynamic kitchen team. We are looking for someone who thrives in a fast-paced restaurant environment, takes pride in preparing high-quality food, and can lead the kitchen with confidence during busy service periods.
The ideal candidate is someone who works with urgency, stays organized under pressure, communicates well with the team, and helps keep the kitchen running smoothly during peak hours. Previous restaurant experience is required, along with a strong commitment to food safety, consistency, and quality.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook menu items according to standardized recipes and presentation standards.
- Assist with food preparation, including chopping, slicing, and portioning ingredients.
- Work quickly and efficiently while maintaining excellent food quality.
- Take initiative and help lead the kitchen during busy rushes by keeping the team organized and productive.
- Ensure all food is handled, stored, and prepared according to food safety regulations.
- Maintain a clean and organized workstation, equipment, and utensils.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure timely service and smooth kitchen operations.
- Follow all health and safety guidelines to prevent cross-contamination and maintain a safe work environment.
- Plate and serve dishes promptly with consistent quality and presentation.
- Support overall kitchen efficiency by assisting wherever needed.
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of experience working as a Line Cook in a busy restaurant.
- Ability to work very quickly without compromising quality or cleanliness.
- Strong leadership skills with the confidence to direct and support the team during high-volume service.
- Excellent knowledge of breakfast, lunch, and dinner preparation.
- Strong understanding of food preparation techniques, cooking methods, and presentation.
- Knowledge of food handling procedures and food safety standards.
- Ability to multitask and remain calm under pressure.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible shifts, including weekends.
- Positive attitude with excellent communication and teamwork skills.
