EXCHANGE LIAISON (1 Year)

- One-year temporary grant-funded position with funding currently secured through August 31, 2027.
- A flexible work schedule established in consultation with the Supervisor and based on operational needs. The successful candidate will work the equivalent of 172 service days per year.

The Opportunity
Under the direction of the Associate Executive Secretary, the Education Liaison administers the Education Exchange Program, which includes provincial, national and internal short and long term reciprocal exchanges for Alberta teachers and school leaders. Specifically, this position is responsible for:
- Facilitating and managing approved agreements with provincial, national and international program partners.
- Coordinating program procedures and processes, including the development of program guidelines.
- Monitoring, reviewing and reporting program to Associate Executive Secretary
- Processing expense claims.
- Providing advice to directors on current and future directions of the program.
- Writing and preparing reports and correspondence as required.
- Reviewing applications and interviewing applicants for short and long term exchanges.
- Identifying appropriate exchange placements.
- Overseeing the arrangement of orientation and debriefing activities.
- Working with program assistant to coordinate all logistics related to the planning and set up of these activities.
- Facilitating incoming visitations and outgoing missions.
- Responding to participant information requests as required, which includes researching and gathering necessary program information.
- Trouble shooting a wide range of issues related to the program, which includes working with participants to identify problem and working together to find creative solutions.
- Facilitating program promotion, including website, print materials and information requests.
- Liaising with government officials as required to support the program, which includes recognition of International Education Week.
- Providing district presentations as required.
If you have:
- University degree in a related field.
- Three to five years of experience in program administration.
- Experience working in the education sector, including teacher exchange programs, and/or within a complex government environment is an asset
- Knowledge of teaching and the Alberta K–12 education system.
- Strong intercultural communication and relationship-building skills.
- Excellent problem-solving, organizational, and time-management skills.
- Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
