SER is currently looking for skilled and enthusiastic personnel to work on our fleet of research and survey vessels.
Minimum Required Qualifications/Transport Canada Certifications:
- General interest in boating and working on the water
- Transport Canada Marine Emergency Duties (MEDA3) Certificate
- Transport Canada Small Vessel Operator Proficiency (SVOP) Certificate
Ideal Qualifications/Transport Canada Certifications:
- Transport Canada Bridge Watch Certificate
- Previous marine experience i.e. - working as a cook and deckhand on other vessels
Please note SER is willing to put select personnel through certifications on a case-specific basis.
Responsibilities may include, but not limited to:
- Mate or captain duties depending on qualifications and the specific vessel i.e. – bridge watch duties or small vessel operation
- On-deck duties (general deckhand duties)
- Galley duties including meal planning, grocery shopping, cooking, and cleaning for a crew of varying size
Wages: Vary depending on experience and qualifications as well as project type.
