SOS is a volunteer-based non-profit organization meeting the needs and improving the lives of District 69 residents since 1968. SOS provides more than 20 local programs and services to all ages, including programs that meet basic needs and promote healthy living and social connections.
The SOS Program Coordinator organizesthe Christmas program, including registration, toy shop setup and operation, gift distribution, data management, volunteer training, and events; and the Income Tax program, including registration, volunteer-prepared income tax returns and tax clinics, data management, and volunteer training. As a front-line staff member, you will assist with client intakes, assessments, referrals, and services, and cover/back-up other SOS programs and reception.

Qualifications & Skills:
· Completion of post-secondary training in a related field supplemented by a minimum of two years previous experience in a similar role, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
· Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
· Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines with accuracy and attention to detail.
· Strong administrative skills, knowledge, and experience in office procedures.
· Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, and communication skills.
· Excellent computer skills using MS 365 and databases.
· Ability to work both independently, and in a team in a fast-paced, busy, dynamic environment, shifting priorities as required.
· Ability to perform the physical demands of the position.
· Experience working with volunteers and clients in the social services sector, including handling challenging interpersonal situations
· Valid Class 5 Driver’s License
Hours of Work: 35 hours per week
Compensation: $24.50 per hour (+ benefits listed above)
Term: Early August 2026 to May 28, 2027
