Position Overview:
Reporting to the Plant Supervisor at our Stratford facility, the Door Builder will work side-by-side with our dedicated staff, learning our processes and standards for building custom wood overlay garage doors. You will be ‘hands-on’ with the different materials and tools used while you take part in creating a beautiful, finished product.
Key Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
A successful candidate will be required to:
- Work well as a member of our team.
- Be effective when working independently or with minimal supervision.
- Operate typical woodworking equipment safely & efficiently.
- Be willing to share and expand upon your current knowledge of woodworking practices.
- Accurately understand detailed shop drawings.
- Have keen attention to detail and an eye for quality.
- Lift heavy door panels.
- Maintain quality control and production expectations.
- Minor machine maintenance as required (ie. Change saw blades, router bits, etc)
- May be required to mill their own lumber as needed
- May be required to cut out window holes in panels as needed
- Final prep of door prior to sending to stain department
- Fill & sand all nail holes
- Square up steel panels and perform layout on doors prior to assembly
- Install milled lumber onto doors as per drawings and worksheets

Professional Qualifications & Skills:
- Experience or training in woodworking is preferred

Typical Working Hours: Monday – Thursday 7 am to 4 pm & Friday 7am to 1pm
