Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Community / Life Development Facilitator to support individuals with disabilities in achieving their personal goals and enhancing their quality of life.
This role involves providing personalized assistance, fostering independence, and promoting community engagement.
The ideal candidate will have experience working with individuals with diverse needs, including those requiring special attention and caregiving support, and possess excellent communication skills to build trusting relationships. Responsibilities
- Develop and implement individualized plans to support clients’ personal development, community participation, and daily living skills.
- Assist clients with activities of daily living, including personal hygiene, administration, Life Skills program and cooking and mobility support.
- Use effective communication techniques, facilitate understanding and engagement in Life Skill Program at the academy.
- Provide caregiving support tailored to each individual’s needs, ensuring safety and well-being at all times.
- Foster a positive environment that encourages independence, self-esteem, and social interaction.
- Collaborate with families, academy staff and professionals to coordinate services and monitor progress.
- Maintain accurate documentation oof any incidents or concerns.
- Promote inclusive community participation by facilitating access to local events, resources, and activities.
Experience
- Prior experience working with individuals with disabilities 16+ or in special education settings is preferred.
- Knowledge of caregiving practices and medication administration is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with cooking, life skills, executive function skills or willingness to learn is a plus.
- Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with clients, families, and team members.
- Experience in providing compassionate support tailored to diverse needs will be highly valued. This role is vital in empowering individuals to lead fulfilling lives within their communities while fostering an inclusive environment that respects each person’s unique abilities and aspirations.
Pay: $20.00-$23.00 per hour
