Hitachi Construction Truck Manufacturing, Ltd. (HTM) is a subsidiary of Hitachi Construction Machinery Co., Ltd. (HCM) which produces and sells world-class products for the mining and the construction industries. HTM is a manufacturing company that builds and supplies various size rigid dump trucks from 65 tons to 320 tons payload to HCM. HTM also supplies spare parts for rigid dump trucks to HCM’s dealer network. HTM’s operation center is located in Guelph, Ontario.
Overview
HTM is currently recruiting for Process Engineer (Assembly) to add to their team of professionals. This role reports to the manager and requires the ability to provide technical support to produce quality products using the most effective and efficient processes.
We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Process Engineer to join our innovative manufacturing team. Duties
- Evaluate and design the workflow process for trucks, parts and remanufacturing components.
- Design and test the production processes in improving productivity and ensuring quality.
- Evaluate process equipment and tooling requirements, define specifications, lead procurement and successful integration into plant operations.
- Provide Assembly (Hydro-Mechanical -Electro) Engineering support to the manufacturing operations. Hands on approach on shop floor to support and train assembly functions.
- Lead troubleshooting and problem-solving activities, provide solutions and support for process, quality, and equipment related issues to prevent defect flow-out.
- Review functional test requirements and ensure translation into mature functional tests.
- Work with the product development team to assist and review design effecting production processes, develop production instructions, and time standards.
- Drive continuous improvement of manufacturing activities through detailed analytical reviews, process automation and fixture / tooling design.
- Execute capital investment projects and manage all aspects of implementation (i.e. budget, schedule, install, commissioning and buy-off).
- Investigate and address issues to ensure safety and ergonomic concerns are resolved in a timely manner.

Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Engineering, or a related field with strong mechanical knowledge.
- 5-10 years of assembly production engineering experience with knowledge.
- Technical Knowledge and trouble shooting skills and experience in Hydro-Mechanical-Electro system.
- Ability to develop strong integrated Teams.
- Have Strong communication skills and ability to work well in a multi-disciplinary team environment.
- Ability to work on floor for extended period.
- Familiarity with Lean operations and Basics of Industrial Engineering concepts.
- Proficiency utilizing Microsoft Office Suite and CAD software, ideally Unigraphics.
- Strong written and communication coupled with solid liaison skills.
- Familiarity with industrial equipment maintenance, welding techniques, and assembly processes.
- Strong understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Ability to interpret technical drawings, schematics, and CAD files accurately.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to process optimization and troubleshooting.
