Position Summary
At Aisin Safety is a priority. As a part of the Maintenance team you will be responsible to maintain the safety standards in accordance to CSA, ESA and WHIMIS. You must follow company policies pertaining to LOTO procedures and report any deficiencies found plantwide. The role requires full support of Manufacturing build schedules, so if MFG is working overtime the support of this role is a requirement.
Position Responsibilities
- Base 40-hour work week – on call basis for support, phone supplied
- Flexible working schedule (split shifts, early starts, call in support into late second shift, weekends)
- Must be able to travel out of the country
- Working weekends / between shifts to perform investigation/level up activities to reduce production downtime
- Support troubleshooting and fixing machine issues during breakdown using PLC (Omron CJ/NJ/NX Series) and HMI (Proface, Omron).
- Adjust sensors (reed switches, laser sensors, color sensors), vision systems (Cognex/Keyence), servo drives settings (Omron) if needed during breakdowns.
· Use electrical drawings and manuals to troubleshoot issues with sensor/relays/contactors/power supplies/IO cards etc. Ability to troubleshoot issues in the absence of electrical drawings/manuals.
· Make adjustment to robot program (Yaskawa Motoman/OTC) using teach pendant.
· Taking and maintaining backups for PLC/HMI/Servos/Robots/Vision systems etc.
· Adding or modifying fault code messages for HMI’s
· Implementing efficient ways for “homing sequences” from abnormal cycle stops.
· Support Automation team with Integration projects. Maintenance and MFG support is the primary target with project work as the secondary target.
·Perform all other duties as required or assigned which are reasonably within the scope of the duties in this job classification/Maintaining and improving all automation including PLC, robots, sensor, cameras, HMI
Essential Skills and Experience
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills a must.
- Strong leadership and organizational skills (prioritizing work)
- Strong technical/mechanical aptitude & troubleshooting skills is
- Basic computer skills – Microsoft products.
- Robot training in programming and preventative maintenance (training provided)
- Understanding of vision system (training provided)
Education Certifications Required
Electro mechanical college diploma or equal experience in field
