RESIDENTIAL COMMUNITY WORKER (RCW) - CASUAL
Southern Okanagan Community Inclusion Society (SOCIS) is a non-profit organization with operations in Oliver and Osoyoos, BC. We provide services to neuro-diverse individuals to enhance their quality of life and meet their health needs. We do this through our various programs including: 24hr group homes, Job Development, Community Inclusion, Home Share, Independent Living and Skill Development.

About the position:
Please note that we are a union environment. Currently we are looking for people to fill casual positions. As a casual, you will have access to apply to part-time and full-time positions that come available in the future.
We will work with you to orient you to all our programs and services. This will introduce you to the various services, homes and locations of our operations. Once you are done orientating, we will work with you to find the opportunity that fits your schedule, skills and preferences.

Duties:
· Providing one-to-one support
· Assisting individuals to develop new skills
· Supporting individuals to participate in activities and their community
· Helping individuals with their health needs, medications and attending health appointments
· Following various individual health care plans
· Aiding persons served in reaching personal goals
· Driving persons served to activities, appointments and to volunteering
· Documentation of day-to-day operations
· Other care related activities
Requirements:
The position requires the ability to work both as a team member and independently around the support of clients. Applicants for this position would require:
· Certificate in the field of Community Care (or equivalent experience)
· Valid First Aid certificate
· Doctor’s letter of fitness
· Current TB test
· Food Safe certificate
· A Class 5 Driver's License
Additional consideration will be given to candidates who hold a valid unrestricted Class 4 Driver’s License (optional). At the time of application, it is okay to not have the above documentation but applicants must be prepared to acquire Certifications before being officially hired by SOCIS.
Wages are set by the collective agreement and are $25.95 – $29.76 and Full-Time and Regular Part-Time (over 20 hours per week) would also be eligible for benefits which include medical, dental, LTD, life insurance, and participation in the Municipal Pension Plan once you pass your probationary period.
