An extrusion grinder/pulverizer is a machine that grinds and crushes plastic materials into fine powders or granules, often for recycling or further processing. The operator's responsibilities and duties revolve around the safe and efficient operation of the machine, including preparing feedstock, monitoring the process, and ensuring the quality of the output.
Responsibilities
- This includes sorting, cleaning, and preparing the plastic waste or raw materials for grinding, ensuring they are free from contaminants.
- Setting up and operating the grinder/pulverizer, adjusting speed and pressure settings as needed, and monitoring gauges and other indicators to ensure proper machine function.
- Inspecting the output for defects or inconsistencies in particle size and adjusting the machine settings to maintain quality with the help of maintenance department.
- Alerting maintenance department of maintenance tasks, such as sharpening blades, aligning blades, overheating bearings and all other potential issues with equipment.
- Adhering to safety protocols and procedures when operating the machine, including proper use of PPE and understanding emergency shut-off procedures.
- Recording production data, including the amount and type of material processed, and reporting any issues or defects.
- Identifying opportunities for improvement in the pulverizing process, such as optimizing settings, reducing waste, or improving safety.
Qualifications
- Proven experience with grinding or pulverizing machinery in a manufacturing setting (Preferred)
- Mechanical aptitude
- Ability to read technical drawings and use hand tools effectively.
- Strong understanding of quality inspection processes.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles.
- Basic math skills for measurements and calculations.
- Forklift certification is preferred.
- Excellent attention to detail and safety awareness.
- Adhere to all safety protocols in the factory.

Day Shift:
7:00AM - 3:00PM (Hiring 1 operator)
Afternoon Shift:
3:00PM - 11:00PM (Hiring 1 operator)
