Quality Assurance Supervisor - Production

Salary Range: $60,500 - $80,000 per year

Position Summary
We are seeking a Quality Assurance Supervisor to join a manufacturing team in Leamington, ON.
Reporting to the QA Manager, you will supervise and coordinate a team of Quality Assurance Technicians focused on production, packaging, labeling, testing, and storage of finished products for the domestic market. The QA Supervisor will ensure all activities and facility operations meet all regulatory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Compliance Oversight: Oversee compliance of production and packaging to ensure all products meet regulatory requirements.
- Continuous Improvement: Conduct daily observations to identify efficiencies and opportunities to improve compliance and processes.
- Investigations: Collaborate with managers and supervisors to review non-compliance issues. Assist in investigations of incidents, deviations, and customer complaints.
- Documentation: Contribute to the creation and updating of Standard Operating Procedures, forms, and work instructions.
- Finished Goods Support: Review and release incoming components and finished goods in a timely manner. Communicate deficiencies promptly to ensure resolution.
- Reporting & CAPA: Maintain and create monthly reports on non-conformances, CAPAs, and follow-ups. Lead and guide completion of NC and CAPA processes. Coach operations team to complete reports in a timely manner.
- Team Leadership: Coach, lead, and mentor QA Technicians. Handle training, supervision, and succession planning within the QA department.
- Communication: Communicate and collaborate effectively with all levels from shop floor to senior management regarding compliance matters.
- Audits: Prepare for and participate in internal and external quality and regulatory audits.
- Other: Support R&D activities including trial protocols and data compilation. Work with HR and supervisors to resolve team conflicts. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Experience
- BSc in Biological Science, Pharmacy, Food Science, or post-secondary diploma in a science-related technical discipline required.
- 3+ years experience in a Health Canada–regulated environment required. Industries include: cannabis, pharmaceutical, natural health products, food, or medical devices. Must include management of direct reports.
- 2+ years experience in Quality Assurance or Quality Control required.
- Working knowledge of the Cannabis Act, Cannabis Regulations, and Good Production Practices (GPP) required.
- Experience with Health Canada audits required.
- Existing Health Canada security clearance and QAP designation is an asset.
- Familiarity with electronic Quality Management Systems (eQMS) and document control is an asset.
- Self-motivated with strong decision-making, training, and leadership skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills with strong attention to detail.
