The MICE Manager leads the planning, sales, and delivery of meetings, incentives, conferences, and exhibitions within the tourism and travel sector. This role combines commercial acumen with operational expertise, managing client relationships, retail sales initiatives, and the events operations team to deliver profitable, high-quality events and experiences.
The ideal candidate is a strategic and hands-on leader who thrives in a fast-paced, client-focused environment, with proven experience in both MICE operations and revenue-generating sales for travel and tourism.
Key Responsibilities
- Drive the growth of the MICE business in tourism and travel by identifying opportunities, responding to RFPs, and leading the creation of creative, commercially viable proposals and presentations.
- Act as the primary point of contact for key retail and corporate clients, managing relationships from initial brief to post-event review and ensuring high satisfaction and repeat business.
- Lead end-to-end project management for medium to large-scale MICE programs, including concept development, budgeting, timelines, risk management, and quality control.
- Negotiate with hotels, venues, DMCs, transport providers, and other suppliers to secure competitive rates, favorable terms, and added-value benefits for clients.
- Set and manage project budgets, track margins, approve major costs, and ensure events are delivered on time, within budget, and to agreed profit targets.
- Supervise, mentor, and guide coordinators and junior staff, assigning workloads, reviewing documents and costings, and providing performance feedback.
- Oversee on-site operations for priority events, ensuring seamless execution, rapid problem-solving, and service that aligns with brand standards.
- Implement and maintain efficient processes, templates, and tools for project documentation, reporting, and post-event evaluation to continuously improve quality and efficiency.
- Collaborate with retail sales, marketing, and revenue teams to develop campaigns, travel packages, and pricing strategies that position MICE offerings competitively.
- Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and destination developments, translating insights into new products, services, and sales opportunities.

Specialized Knowledge, Skills, and Attributes Required to be Successful
- Minimum 5 years of experience in MICE, events, hospitality, or corporate travel, or related role, including proven responsibility for end‑to‑end management of medium to large events or groups.
- Strong leadership and people‑management skills, with experience guiding coordinators or junior staff and working in cross‑functional teams.
- Excellent negotiation and relationship‑building skills with both clients and suppliers, with a commercial mindset and comfort-owning revenue and margin targets.
- Advanced organizational and time‑management skills, with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously in a fast‑paced environment.
- Strong financial acumen, including experience with budgets, cost control, pricing, and basic forecasting.
- High level of professionalism, communication skills, and presentation skills, with the ability to lead client meetings and represent the company at events and trade shows.
- Proficiency in office tools (Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and familiarity with CRM, event management, or booking systems; additional languages are an advantage.
Flexibility to travel and to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules
Working Conditions
- Call centre environment - home-based/remote or hybrid
- Monday to Friday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm (EST). Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, and travel for site visits or on‑site event support as required.
