Schedule: Monday to Friday, 7 hours per day, 35 hours per week

Job Title: Ojibwe Language Resource Worker

Team: Indigenous Education

Reports to: Administrator of Indigenous Education & School Principal

POSITION PURPOSE

The Ojibwe Language Resource Worker will develop the programming, as well as provide
instruction and assessment of Ojibwe language students. By working collaboratively with other
classroom staff, the Ojibwe Language Resource Worker will support student success and
achievement in the NSL Program. The Ojibwe Language Resource Worker will support small
groups of students and may provide instruction to classes of students as an unqualified teacher
when needed.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

High School Diploma and additional diploma or certification in language studies

Experience working with students/ youth

Ability to speak read and write Ojibwe

Knowledge & understanding of First Nation culture, language, values, and history

Experience working in a school setting.

Strong oral and written communication skills.

Must be able to display positive attitudes and behaviors.

Excellent planning and organizational skills with ability to prioritize multiple and

changing demands.

Ability to effectively work independently as well as part of a team.

Proficiency in a computerized office environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

SUPPORTING OJIBWE LANGUAGE INSTRUCTION

Works with the classroom teacher(s) on Ojibwe language instruction
