Overview
We are seeking an experienced and dynamic Bar Manager/Bartender to lead our bar operations and deliver exceptional customer service in a lively hospitality environment. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership skills, extensive food and beverage knowledge, and a passion for creating memorable experiences for guests. This role involves managing daily bar activities, supervising staff, and ensuring compliance with food safety standards while maintaining a welcoming atmosphere. Previous restaurant or hotel experience, along with bartending expertise, is highly valued.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily bar operations, including opening and closing procedures
- Prepare and serve a variety of beverages, including cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic options
- Manage inventory levels, order supplies, and ensure proper food handling and storage
- Supervise and train bartenders and bar staff to uphold service standards
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and alcohol licensing laws
- Handle cash transactions accurately using Micros POS or similar systems
- Provide excellent customer service by engaging with guests and addressing their needs promptly
- Monitor the cleanliness of the bar area, including glassware, utensils, and workstations
- Assist in interviewing and onboarding new team members to build a strong team
- Lead by example in hospitality, teamwork, and professionalism to foster a positive work environment
- Assist / lead in planning and organizing special events
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, cooking, or kitchen operations within the food industry
- Strong background in food service, hospitality, or restaurant management roles
- Demonstrated supervising experience with team management capabilities
- Proficiency with POS systems such as PixelPoint or similar platforms for cash handling
- Excellent customer service skills with the ability to handle diverse guest needs effectively
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Leadership qualities with experience in interviewing and training staff
- Ability to manage restaurant or bar operations efficiently under pressure
- Bartending experience or familiarity with beverage preparation is required
- Strong communication skills and a professional demeanor suitable for supervising staff and interacting with guests
