POSITION: COORDINATOR FACILITY MAINTENANCE

SUMMARY: Reporting to the Manager of Operations and taking direction from the Manager of Recreation, the Coordinator of Facility Maintenance will be responsible for the overall maintenance and operations of all The Town of Pincher Creek Facilities. To ensure that all facilities are clean, safe and in a state of good repair and in compliance with all Municipal, Provincial and/or Federal standards. To assist with staff training in areas of operations and safety and responsible for the building preventative maintenance plan.
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

Provide excellent customer service

Interact with the public relating to facilities maintenance activities and respond to questions and/or complaints

Take ownership and work to troubleshoot issues

Assist with emergent or unforeseen issues

Obtain and keep current all required certification and training requirements for this position
-
Maintenance and Operations of all Town owned buildings and facilities
-
Coordinate all daily, weekly and monthly routine maintenance and operations with facilities within allocated budget
-
Maintain facility and equipment according to Preventative Maintenance and Safety Plan and record in logbooks
-
Develop and/or maintain a comprehensive Preventative Maintenance Program for all Town Facilities, and their capital infrastructure.

Conduct inspections for condition and safety
-
Coordinate facility and equipment upgrades/projects as directed
-
Coordinate Town staff and equipment to assist with facility operations and maintenance
-
Work with other Public Service Coordinators on overlapping projects
-
As directed by the Manager of Recreation Services, to assume responsibility for the maintenance and operations of the Multi-Purpose Facility including the arena and the pool and Spray Park
-
Coordinate all daily maintenance and operations with facility program and schedule requirements
-
Ensure facility and equipment is clean, safe and in good condition at all times
-
Maintain facility and equipment according to Preventative Maintenance and Safety Plan and record in logbooks
-
Ensure daily and scheduled quality tests are performed, recorded and reported
-
Monitor SCADA and other building systems daily
-
Responsible to plan and coordinate facility shut down and start-up activities in cooperation with other Public Service Coordinators

Operation of Town and equipment and vehicles

Coordination, development and documentation of employees

Coordination of work assignments of Maintenance employees

Ensure maintenance duties are performed to established standards

Assist Manager of Recreation Services with orientation and training of Aquatics staff related to facility safety, water and mechanical room operations

Advise on employee levels and recommend on training needs

Conduct or attend employee meetings as required

Provide leadership and guidance to employees
-
Adhere to Town Safety Program
-
Ensure a safe work environment and model safety to other employees Undertake Hazard Assessments on facility and equipment
-
Report any incidents or breaches of safety including near misses
-
Ensure safety equipment (PPE) is provided and in good condition
-
Train employees in proper use of equipment and handling of chemicals
-
Ensure Provincial and Federal standards and requirements are met

Attend Town safety meetings and training
-
Contractor Management
-
Maintain adequate levels of supplies or equipment for maintenance operations
-
Keep Manager of Operations and Recreation Manager appraised of needs
-
Ordering and stocking as required
-
Maintain adequate level of custodial supplies
-
Prepare reports as required
-
Respond to alarms, call backs and emergencies
-
Be available for on-call emergencies, evenings and/or weekends on a rotational basis
-
Investigates and responds to calls, requests and complaints from the public, Council or other departments
-
Monitor condition of Town Facilities and infrastructure and notify supervisor or other Town supervisor of any issues or problems
-
Keep supervisor apprised immediately of any emergent matters and assist with unforeseen issues

Attend/conduct meetings as required

Communicate with and support other Town Departments

Take ownership of and solve problems

QUALIFICATIONS
-
Over 18 years of age
-
Grade 12 Diploma or Equivalent
-
Valid Class 5 Drivers License

Swimming Pool Operator 1
-
Arena Operator 1
-
Apprentice Electrician or Carpenter
-
Current Standard First Aid, AED and WHIMIS
-
Able to provide a vulnerable sector Criminal Records check, Children and Youth Services Intervention Records check and drivers abstract
