Overview
We are looking to add someone to our front of house team in a customer service role that will grow into a role as a barista. Ideal candidates will have specialty coffee experience and have worked in a fast paced cafe. In this role, you will be the first point of contact for our customers, providing exceptional service and support in a busy environment. Your primary responsibility will be to help customers with their inquiries, process transactions, and ensure a positive experience that reflects our commitment to quality and service within the community of Oldhand.
Duties
- Greet customers warmly and meet their needs in a friendly manner.
- Process transactions accurately using the POS system, including cash handling and credit card processing.
- Work efficiently and complete tasks in a timely manner
- Provide information about our menu, addressing any questions or concerns.
- Maintain knowledge of food safety standards and ensure compliance during service.
- Resolve customer complaints effectively and professionally to ensure satisfaction.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Uphold company policies regarding customer service standards and hospitality.
Experience
- Previous experience in customer service is preferred, particularly in the specialty coffee industry or food service sector.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage positively with customers.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
- A proactive attitude towards problem-solving and customer satisfaction.
A note: weekend availability is a non negotiable. We are reasonable people and are happy to do our best to accommodate requests, but our shop gets busy on the weekends and we need good people around!
Pay: From $18.25 per hour
