Pinchin is seeking a Project Manager / Senior Project Manager to join our Hazardous Materials team in our Peterborough office. This new role reports to the Operations Managers of the Hazardous Materials Group.
Department Overview
In this role, you will help clients create safer and healthier environments by managing hazardous materials and indoor environmental quality projects from assessment through remediation. You will lead field investigations, oversee sampling and data collection, and translate findings into clear, practical recommendations that support informed decision-making. You will build and maintain strong client relationships, manage project scope, budgets, and deliverables, and contribute to business development. Working closely with your team, you will mentor technologists, review technical work, and uphold high standards of quality while delivering solutions that protect occupants, improve building performance, and support resilient communities.
Your Impact
- Lead and / or support on hazardous materials, indoor air quality, mould and/or occupational health and safety projects across the region.
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while supporting new business development.
- Oversee project delivery, including assessments, contract preparation, and abatement coordination.
- Perform hazardous materials, air quality, and microbial contamination assessments and reporting.
- Conduct sampling and analysis and develop remediation/abatement specifications and management plans.
- Manage the successful financial performance of assigned projects.
- Mentor junior and intermediate staff and review technical work for quality and consistency.
- Contribute to quality control and support annual business planning initiatives.
What You’ll Bring to Pinchin
- Degree, diploma, or certificate in Construction Technology, Architectural Technology, Civil Engineering, or a related science discipline.
- 3–5 years of project management experience in hazardous materials consulting.
- Strong ability to read, write, edit, and proof reports, correspondence, specifications, drawings, and RFP/RFQ documents.
- Excellent spelling, grammar, punctuation, and overall written communication skills and professional verbal communication skills and confidence working with clients, colleagues, and project teams.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage and support assigned staff during project-specific work.
- Valid driver’s license, access to a reliable vehicle, and applicable insurance with availability to travel as required
- CRSP, PMP, and CIH designation are considered an asset.
- Position may require occasional travel into surrounding areas outside of Peterborough (e.g. Oshawa, Toronto, Mississauga).
