Job Summary:
The Sales Manager is vital to the success of our sales department. This role involves managing sales goals, hiring and training staff, and ensuring we meet manufacturer’s targets through effective promotions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee all sales staff and lot porters.
- Conduct daily sales meetings to set objectives and review progress.
- Hire, train, motivate, and evaluate sales consultants.
- Support sales consultants in closing deals.
- Collaborate with the General Manager to plan annual sales targets.
- Manage sales operations costs, including designing remuneration plans.
- Develop and monitor advertising campaigns and promotions.
- Prepare and present weekly sales reports to senior leadership.
- Ensure dealership compliance with all vehicle sales laws.
- Establish and maintain customer prospect systems, follow-up procedures, sales analyses, and inventory data.
- Review sales documents for proper completion.
- Ensure proper display and cleanliness of units.
- Perform monthly reconciliations with the Controller of Accounts Receivable.
- Monitor expenditures and balance budgets.
- Perform other tasks as required to support the dealership’s goals.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary education required; a University Degree in Business is preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of sales experience, preferably within a dealership setting.
- In-depth understanding of sales, finance, and marketing.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and team-building skills.
- Proven management and leadership abilities.
