About Us:
Shortline Moving and Greg's Tilt Deck are trusted providers of moving, transportation and specialized hauling services. We operate a diverse fleet of semi-trucks, semi-trailers (flat decks, step decks, dry vans), 5-ton trucks, cube vans, and tilt deck trucks/trailers. We are looking for a skilled diesel mechanic to join our team and ensure our fleet remains in top operating condition.
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance on primarily diesel semi, tilt deck and 5 ton trucks, as well as trailers.
- Service and repair hydraulic systems, PTOs, brakes, suspensions, and electrical systems.
- Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues efficiently.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, repairs, and parts inventory.
- Work independently and as part of a team to meet deadlines.
Qualifications & Skills:
- 3+ years of experience as a Diesel Mechanic, preferably with semi-trucks and trailers.
- Strong knowledge of hydraulic systems, PTOs, and diesel engines.
- Experience with flatbeds, step decks, dry vans, and beavertail/sliding axle (landoll style) trailers is an asset.
- Ability to diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
- Welding and fabrication skills are beneficial.
- Own tools are preferred but not required.
- Valid driver’s license; Class 1/Class 3 are beneficial but not required
- Preference given to candidates who are willing to work in remote locations and repair units roadside as needed
