Job Responsibilities
Financial Recordkeeping
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records for the restaurant.
- Record daily sales, cash receipts, credit card transactions, and deposits.
- Enter and reconcile transactions in accounting software.
- Organize and maintain financial documents, invoices, receipts, and reports.
Accounts Payable
- Process vendor invoices and supplier payments.
- Verify purchase orders, invoices, and delivery receipts.
- Schedule and monitor payment due dates.
- Maintain records of food, beverage, and operational expenses.
Accounts Receivable
- Track outstanding customer invoices and catering receivables.
- Process customer payments and deposits.
- Follow up on overdue accounts when necessary.
Bank and Credit Card Reconciliation
- Reconcile bank statements monthly.
- Review and reconcile merchant service and credit card transactions.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in financial records.
Payroll Support
- Process employee payroll and maintain payroll records.
- Verify employee hours, overtime, tips, and deductions.
- Ensure payroll tax withholdings and remittances are accurate.
- Prepare payroll-related reports for management.
Inventory and Cost Control
- Assist in tracking food, beverage, and supply inventory.
- Record inventory adjustments and variances.
- Monitor food cost percentages and report unusual fluctuations.
- Support inventory audits and stock counts.
Tax Compliance
- Prepare records for sales tax filings (GST/HST, PST, or applicable taxes).
- Maintain documentation for tax audits and compliance requirements.
- Assist accountants with year-end tax preparation.
Financial Reporting
- Prepare weekly, monthly, and quarterly financial reports.
- Generate profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports.
- Analyze financial data and provide management with insights.
- Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities.
Cash Management
- Monitor daily cash flow and cash balances.
- Reconcile cash drawers and point-of-sale (POS) reports.
- Verify cash deposits and investigate shortages or overages.
- Maintain internal controls for cash handling procedures.
Restaurant-Specific Responsibilities
- Reconcile POS system sales with accounting records.
- Track gift card sales and redemptions.
- Monitor employee tip reporting and distribution.
- Record catering, delivery, and third-party platform transactions.
- Coordinate with restaurant managers regarding daily sales and expenses.
Administrative Duties
- Maintain confidentiality of financial information.
- Support external accountants and auditors.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
- Assist management with financial planning and operational decision-making.
Pay: $50,000.00-$55,000.00 per year
