Cranbrook Caregiver
Job Summary
We are seeking compassionate and dedicated caregivers to provide exceptional support and assistance to residents in our assisted living community. The ideal candidate will be committed to enhancing the quality of life for seniors and individuals with disabilities through personalized care, empathy, and professionalism. This role involves assisting residents with daily activities, medication management, and ensuring a safe, clean, and comfortable environment. One must have a Canadian permit to work in Canada already.
Responsibilities
- Support residents with meal preparation and feeding as needed
- Engage residents in meaningful activities to promote mental and emotional well-being
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning resident rooms and common areas
- Monitor residents’ health status and report any changes or concerns to supervisory staff
- Assist with mobility and heavy lifting to ensure safety during transfers or repositioning
- Offer companionship and emotional support to residents, fostering a caring environment
- Follow all safety procedures and infection control protocols to maintain a healthy environment
- Provide personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility assistance
- Assist with some medication administration following prescribed schedules and protocols
Requirements
- Knowledge of senior care, dementia care, and working with individuals with disabilities is advantageous
- Strong caregiving skills with a compassionate approach to resident needs
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility needs
- Experience in medication administration and basic nursing tasks is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and patience when working with seniors or individuals requiring special care
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to all health and safety regulations
- Flexibility to work various shifts as needed; a caring attitude is essential for success in this role
- Prior experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospice care, or home care is preferred
- CPR certificate is required
Pay: $21.00-$22.00 per hour
