About the Role
This role is primarily a Shopify and web design position. We need someone who lives in landing pages, PDPs, and homepage design — someone who thinks in marketing, conversion, layout, and user experience, and can move fast through iterations.
Graphic design for social, email, and branding is part of the mix, but it's secondary. Ideally, someone equal web and graphic design (or 60/40 at the most).
What You'll Own
Shopify & Web Design — Primary Responsibility
- Design and iterate on landing pages, PDPs, collection pages, and homepage sections for desktop and mobile
- Own the full design cycle: concept → wireframe → high-fidelity mockup → handoff to developer
- Build multiple versions of landing pages for A/B testing and campaign-specific variations
- Design with mobile-first thinking— every layout must work flawlessly on both desktop and mobile
- Use AI tools(Midjourney, Adobe Firefly, Ideogram, or similar) to generate imagery, mockups, and visual concepts quickly
- Maintain visual consistency across the site while adapting designs to specific campaign needs
- Work closely with our Shopify developer — you understand how themes work and design within real technical constraints
- Contribute UX thinking to page structure, hierarchy, CTAs, and conversion flow — not just how it looks, but how it performs
Graphic Design & Marketing Assets — Secondary / Backup
- Design social media graphics, paid ad creatives, and email banners when needed
- Support campaign launches with on-brand visual assets
- Maintain brand consistency across all marketing channels
- Branding work — working within and occasionally extending our existing brand system
What You Bring
Must-Haves
- 3+ years of hands-on Shopify design experience — you know the platform, you understand how pages are built, and you design accordingly
- A portfolio with real Shopify work — landing pages and PDPs, not just concept screens
- Proficiency in Figma (or similar) for wireframes and high-fidelity mockups
- Proficiency in Canva and Adobe Photoshop
- Active user of AI image and design tools (Firefly, Gemini, etc)— you've already built this into your workflow
- Strong mobile/desktop layout skills — you think in breakpoints
- Startup/scaleup mode: You can produce quality work at pace and handle multiple active iterations
Nice to Have
- Basic HTML/CSS knowledge — enough to communicate clearly with a developer and understand what's actually possible
- Experience designing for email (Active Campaign, Klaviyo, or similar)
- Familiarity with conversion-focused design principles (CRO)
- Experience in wellness, education, or health industries
How You Work
- You're comfortable receiving a written brief or verbal conversation and running with it — minimal hand-holding required
- You iterate quickly and don't get precious about versions
- You're organized: clean files, clear naming, easy handoffs
- You flag timeline issues early and communicate proactively
- You care about whether the design actually converts, not just whether it looks good
Pay: $40.00-$60.00 per hour
