The Opportunity
We are seeking a technically skilled and strategic data analyst to implement and manage the day to day deliverables of our ArcGis / ESRI sidewalks infrastructure data systems. This role combines hands-on GIS project delivery with business development support, and technical strategy for recommending improvements. This role will be pivotal in improving how we collect sidewalk hazard data, ensuring high-quality geospatial datasets.
As the successful candidate, you will be people-oriented, responsible for project set up and day to day deliverables for the field data collection and ensuring final client reporting meets all quality standards. Ideally, you will bring some expertise in advanced analytics—including machine learning—along with the ability to contribute to technology development and workflow automation.
Your Responsibilities
Project Process Progression
- Ensuring all projects transfer from our CRM into our ArcGis database and project deliverables are created for field staff to complete.
- Ensure quality control checks in collaboration with the Operations Team that all Field Apps are functioning as intended, data is collecting as intended and that the data transfer to client reporting pathways are correct.
- Help to resolve operational, technical, and people-related challenges as they arise in the field.
- Provide feedback and direction to the operations team as you notice positive outcomes or issues with team performance.
Stakeholder Collaboration & Delivery
- Translate geospatial and analytical outputs into data summary pages and client portals
- Support business development efforts, including project input, scope definition, and data tracking dashboards for identifying trends.
- Collaborate with operational leaders to plan and execute GIS and data-driven client deliverables.
- Identify opportunities to enhance project outcomes through improved use of GIS, data, and technology.
GIS, Data & Technology Development
- Involvement in the management and development of GIS Data set backup process, and spatial data migration and Extract Transform Load (ETL) process
- Optimize process workflows for geospatial data collection and hazard analysis using GIS-enabled tools.
- Contribute to the evaluation, implementation, and enhancement of mobile and web-based technologies to improve data accuracy and operational efficiency.
- Maintain geospatial databases, reporting systems, and mapping outputs.
- Enforce data management standards to ensure data quality, integrity, and usability.
- Manage, and analyze GIS datasets to support reporting, visualization, and client deliverables.
Advanced Analytics & Data Science
- Support geospatial analysis and machine learning techniques to classify and segment infrastructure data.
- Develop methodologies to transform GPS point data into meaningful, analysis-ready datasets.
- Assist in the delivery of insights, reporting, and predictive analytics in collaboration with municipal partners and stakeholders.
Qualifications
Technical Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Geomatics, Engineering, or a related field, with GIS experience
- GIS Platforms & Administration:
- Experience with ArcGIS Enterprise (Portal, Server) and the ArcGIS ecosystem (ArcGIS Online, Web Apps, Field Maps, Quick Capture).
- Geospatial Data & Systems:
Experience working with enterprise geospatial databases (SQL Server, PostgreSQL, ArcSDE) and working within GIS production environments.
- Application Development & Visualization:
Proven ability to develop web maps, dashboards, and applications using ArcGIS, Power BI, and Power Automate; strong understanding of cartographic design principles.Proficiency in Python, R, APIs, and machine learning frameworks, with hands-on experience in process automation and cloud-based data pipelines.Experience supporting infrastructure or engineering projects, including contributions to proposals and business development.

Program Management
- Demonstrated experience managing technical programs and data-driven projects.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate technical outputs into actionable insights.
- Experience working with geospatial and spatial analysis platforms (e.g., QGIS, ArcGIS).
- Knowledge of database design, setup, and maintenance (SQL and cloud-based systems).
Nice-to-Have
- Background in municipal infrastructure, civil engineering, or smart city applications.
- Experience developing or managing web and mobile applications.
