The Opportunity
Newlands Group is partnering with a growing construction company in Scarborough to hire a Business Development Manager.
This is a high-impact, client-facing role focused on driving revenue growth, developing new relationships, and expanding the company's presence across the GTA. The ideal candidate is a polished, well-presented sales professional with a strong background in construction or related industries.
You will play a key role in identifying opportunities, building strategic partnerships, and positioning the company as a trusted provider within the construction space.

Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Sales

Identify, target, and secure new business opportunities within the construction sector

Build and maintain relationships with developers, general contractors, and key decision-makers

Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting through to closing

Prepare and deliver compelling presentations, proposals, and bids

Consistently meet or exceed revenue and pipeline targets
Client Relationship Management

Develop long-term partnerships with clients to drive repeat business

Act as a trusted advisor by understanding client needs and project requirements

Maintain regular communication and follow-ups with active and prospective clients
Market Intelligence & Strategy

Monitor market trends, competitor activity, and project pipelines

Provide insights to leadership on opportunities for growth and positioning

Collaborate with internal teams to align sales strategy with operational capacity
Collaboration & Reporting

Work closely with estimating, operations, and leadership teams

Maintain accurate records of activity, pipeline, and forecasts in CRM systems

Provide regular updates on sales performance and business development efforts
Qualifications
-
5+ years of business development or sales experience within construction or a related industry

Proven track record of generating new business and closing deals

Strong network within the GTA construction market is highly preferred

Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills

Highly professional, well-presented, and confident in client-facing settings

Self-motivated with a results-driven mindset

Ability to manage multiple opportunities in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have

Experience working with subcontractors, general contractors, or developers
