North Vancouver, full time, on-site
4on 3off, 10 hours per shift
- Coordinate daily inbound and outbound unit train schedules with Class I railways (primarily CN Rail and CPKC)
- Monitor train ETAs, arrivals, departures, and yard movements to ensure fluid terminal operations
- Coordinate railcar spotting, unloading sequences, and track utilization with operations teams
- Coordinate with yard crews and supervisors to execute maintenance activities.
- Act as the primary communication link between rail carriers, terminal operations/maintenance, and logistics stakeholders
- Track and analyze key rail KPIs such as cycle time, dwell time, train to-time performance
- Maintain accurate operational data and reporting within terminal systems
- Support continuous improvement initiatives focused on throughput, cost efficiency, and operational reliability
Qualifications and Skills
Post- secondary education in logistics, transportation, or related field. Diploma or degree in logistics, supply chain management, transportation, business, engineering, or marine/ port operations programs is preferred.
- 3–5+ years’ experience in bulk terminal operations, rail logistics, or supply chain coordination
- Strong understanding of unit train operations, rail yard coordination, and coal handling logistics
- Experience working with Canadian rail carriers and western Canadian coal supply chains is highly preferred
- Familiarity with terminal operating systems (TOS), rail tracking platforms, and logistics planning tools
- Proven ability to manage competing priorities in a 24/7, high-throughput environment
- Excellent operational planning and coordination skillset
- Solid ability to problem-solving under pressure
- Strong situational awareness and decision-making
- Knowledge of safety regulations and rail operating procedures
- Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
- Good team collaboration and stakeholder management
